Forgotten Video

I came across this video of Ava we took about 2 years ago after one of our beach trips. She's so darn cute! Since she is now going on 13, attitude and all, I'll be keeping this on the desktop for those times when I need the reminder:)

We're alive

Whew. Who knew how busy life could get when you add another child to the family. I feel like I've been treading water the last few months.

Ava is coming to an end with her Pre-K class and will be starting Kinder in August, so hard to believe. And Owen just turned 10 months today. He's really a joy, still not sleeping, but still a joy.

We recently took a family short vacation to Corpus Christi with my parents and sister and nephew and the kids had a great time. Ava loves the water, loved looking for creatures in the sand with her dad and PaPa. Owen wasn't such a fan of the water, but I think he liked having so many people catering to him over the weekend.

Hopefully life has settled some and I can get back to blogging semi-regularly.

Ava Turns 5!

Ava's birthday was last Tuesday and we celebrated with a big party here at the house complete with baby farm animals (those poor chicks) and a bouncy slide combo. We invited her whole class (all 22 kids) and family of course and Ava had a blast. Here are some pics.

Ava said

With all the focus lately being on getting Owen to say Mama, Ava wanted in as well. The other morning the three of us were in my bathroom getting ready for the day and I hear Ava say to Owen:

"Owen, say A-V-A, come on. Say Ayy Vvv Aaa and I'll karate chop your neck". I guess she's had a little too much of Barbie and the Three Musketeers lately.

Owen says "Mama"

Owen has started talking - his first word was Dada - so not to be outdone, I've been coaching him on saying Mama and he's got it down! And don't worry, thats not toothpaste we're feeding him:)

Ava said

The other morning as we were getting ready for school and work, Ava said something that made me think of a particular song so I started singing. Ava waited for me to finish and shook her head and said, "yeah, mom, you're going to Hollywood."
Can you tell we're American Idol fans at our house.

Owen's Serenade

Owen loves to hear his big sister sing! I love that Ava changes her beat according to the piano and makes up words as she goes along.

Christmas Party - Ava rides a minature horse

Okay, so I'll say right off the bat I shouldn't be heard laughing in this video since Ava could have really gotten hurt, but it was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Watching the video might even be funnier than watching it live. I only wish you could see the expression on her face.
